The WWE Universe is back!
WWE returns to live event touring—for the first time in 17 months—tomorrow with SmackDown at Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
“For over a year and a half, we have waited,” WWE Chairman & CEO Vince McMahon tweeted. “This weekend, we once again welcome the WWE Universe back!”
SmackDown, Money in the Bank, and Raw will all be held in front of live audiences throughout Texas, making them the first ticketed WWE events (aside from WrestleMania 37) since March 9, 2019.
Bianca Belair will defend her SmackDown Women’s Championship against Carmella, while Edge teams up with Dominick and Rey Mysterio to take on Roman Reigns and The Usos on SmackDown.
WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon spoke to Sports Illustrated about returning to live events.
“Without our fans, we don’t have a product,” she said. “We are so excited to return to our fans in July, and then again in August for SummerSlam. Our new tagline is ‘Then. Now. Forever. Together.’ That word together means everything. This is something we’re going to feel, sharing this passion while we’re back together.”
