“This isn’t just death to Maniacs United… this is death to all of New Zealand wrestling!”
With those ominous words, “Rugged” Vic Craig began his reign as Maniacs United Champion this past Saturday.
Craig emerged from the audience to both accept Evan Crowe’s open challenge and end his own apparent retirement.
With Crowe looking set to face “Voidheart” JT Hollow after Hollow attacked the champ, Craig jumped into the ring with a folding chair, attacking Hollow and sending him to the floor before attacking Crowe with the very same chair.
After a violent assault, a double-underhook piledriver, and a pair of brass knuckles, Craig covered Crowe for the biggest win of his career.
After the match, the new champion grabbed the microphone and unleashed a verbal tirade on the fans, Maniacs United and its founder Just Plain Evil, and New Zealand wrestling as a whole before leaving the venue through the audience.
Despite his woes in the main event, JT Hollow had a winning night earlier. Hollow defeated JPE in the opening match before interrupting the Jackson Shield bout between “Fabulance” Lance Adams and Kirby, demanding he be inserted into a triple threat for the title that night—a match he would ultimately win.
