Jake Shehaan defends the IPW Championship against “Falcon Kid” Cam Kaiba and Jamie Tagataese at Nightmare Before Christmas, surrounded by a 15-foot-high Steel Cage.
It’s been three-and-a-half years since the cage first made an appearance, then needed to contain Liam Fury and Sir Mr Burns at Caged Fury 2017. This Saturday will crown a new “King of the Cage” and, more importantly, a definitive champion.
Shehaan shocked the nation when he claimed the IPW title in August, defeating Tagataese in a Fans Bring the Weapons bout and ending the Big Man’s legendary undefeated streak.
Shehaan lost to Cam Kaiba via disqualification in November, giving Falcon Kid grounds for a rematch. But with Tagataese now named Number 1 Contender, a three-way at Nightmare Before Christmas became the only solution.
The steel cage will negate any advantages Shehaan has come to rely on as the mastermind behind CTRL. 15-feet of steel prevents anyone from getting in (or out) and means the IPW Champion will have to fight for himself, without CTRL.
Kaiba and Tagatese must also keep the idea of fighting for themselves in mind. There can be no friends inside a steel cage – only one winner, only one champion.
IPW Nightmare Before Christmas takes place at Te Atatu Peninsula Community Centre on Saturday, December 19. Tickets available from Eventfinda.
