Keith Lee will challenge Drew McIntyre for the WWE Championship next week on an already stacked Legends Night.
Lee became number one contender to McIntyre’s title with a win over Sheamus, defeating the Celtic Warrior after a Spirit Bomb in the opening match of WWE Raw.
McIntyre watched the match from the commentary desk and issued Lee with a warning after offering his congratulations.
“Next week, the result is the same as it always is: Drew McIntyre still WWE Champion.”
Lee and McIntyre have walked a similar path to next week’s WWE Championship match. Both men are former NXT Champions, and dominated the Evolve roster outside of WWE.
Next week’s title match—the first of 2021—will be Lee and McIntyre’s first one-on-one bout since September, when they were interrupted by Retribution.
