For the second week in a row, WWE has a new Universal Champion.
“The Big Dog” Roman Reigns walked into the main event of WWE Payback, wrecked everyone, and left with the title over his shoulder.
Reigns didn’t join the triple threat until the match was long underway – waiting for Strowman and Wyatt to destroy the ring with a mammoth superplex before signing the contract to make his involvement in the No Holds Barred Match official.
Reigns first attempted to pin The Fiend but then, as Paul Heyman willed him on, turned his attention to Strowman.
The Big Dog smashed a chair across the back of his old rival and covered him to become the Universal Champion once again.
A three-time WWE Champion and now two-time Universal Champion, Reigns begins his fifth reign with a world title in WWE.
