A new challenger has emerged for the AEW World Championship.
Jon Moxley will defend the title against Brodie Lee at AEW Double or Nothing, after suffering a beat-down from The Dark Order on AEW Dynamite.
Lee’s minions swarmed Moxley seconds after the champ defeated Frankie Kazarian in a non-title match.
“I am just here to answer the bounty that you put on your very head last week,” Lee told Moxley.
“I’m certainly not the same person that used to look eye-to-eye with you in the past. I am a leader, I make lives extraordinary, and at any point, any one of these noble, distinguished men will stand up and sacrifice themselves for me. And we truly appreciate you making yourself available to us tonight.”
“You are the unfortunate soul that has come into possession of something I want, something I desire, something, Mr Moxley, that I need,” Lee said.
“You have the crown jewel of professional wrestling. This is a challenge for the AEW World Championship!”
Lee is currently the No. 4 Contender in the AEW Rankings – behind Cody and Lance Archer (who will compete for the TNT Championship at Double or Nothing) and AEW Tag Team Champion Kenny Omega.
The AEW World Championship match at Double or Nothing will be the first between Lee and Moxley since December 20, 2016, when Dean Ambrose defeated Luke Harper on WWE SmackDown Live.
AEW Double or Nothing airs live on pay-per-view on Sunday, May 24, via Fite TV.
