WWE WrestleMania 36 will now be a two-day event, airing on Sunday, April 5, and Monday, April 6 (New Zealand time). WWE announced the change yesterday, following Tuesday’s announcement that WrestleMania would move from Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida to the WWE Performance Center.
The changes to what is historically WWE’s biggest event of the year come as the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommend against gatherings of 50 or more people to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
WrestleMania will not only take place at WWE’s training facility but will include “multiple locations” over two nights. Only “essential personnel” will be permitted during the production of WrestleMania.
Seven matches are currently confirmed for WrestleMania 36 including WWE Champion Brock Lesnar versus Drew McIntyre, Universal Champion Goldberg versus Roman Reigns, and Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch versus Shayna Baszler.
Former Super Bowl Champion Rob Gronkowski will serve as host for this year’s WrestleMania. Gronkowski previously helped Mojo Rawley to win the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 33.
