Tonight’s MCW Caged Warfare event is of particular significance to New Zealanders, with both Slade Mercer and Travis Banks wrestling in headlining matches.
Mercer, now based in Melbourne, represents The Estate in the Caged Warfare main event, taking on Team Juicy – Elliot Sexton, Jay Andrews, Mike Burr and Mr Juicy.
“Eight men, surrounded by steel, no escape until a winner is declared,” Mercer wrote. “And The Estate will be declared the winners.”
If The Estate are victorious, Team Juicy will be barred from wrestling for any championships in MCW.
In the co-main event of the evening, Travis Banks takes on Dowie James in what Banks has promised will be a show-stealing bout.
“I am Australian wrestling’s stepfather,” Banks warned James. “You may hate me, you may loathe me, but kid, you will learn to respect me. Dowie, I need you to come sit on daddy’s knee, because I need to teach you a lesson in how to steal a show.”
The match will be Travis’ second in Australia this month. Banks scored a six-man win at Newcastle Pro Wrestling last weekend.
MCW Caged Warfare takes place tonight, May 9, from 9.30pm (New Zealand time) in Melbourne.
