The Style Battle is over for James Raideen, who was unable to win the four-man round-robin tournament held over the course of this weekend’s three Evolve iPPV events.
Raideen was fired up after losing his first match in the Style Battle, and took the fight to Drew Gulak before the bell had even sounded at Evolve 32 on Sunday.
Raideen stayed on top of Gulak, giving him no room to breathe, and ultimately finished him around 10 minutes into their match after executing a massive powerbomb.
Unfortunately for the New Zealander, Timothy Thatcher was able to submit Raideen in his third match of the Style Battle at yesterday’s Evolve 33 event, ending the tournament for Raideen with a 1-2 record.
Thatcher tied with Biff Busick on a 2-1 record at the end of the Style Battle, but Thatcher was awarded the overall win based on his victory over Busick at Evolve 32.
All three Evolve events from this past weekend, featuring the Style Battle and matches from Chris Hero, Drew Galloway, Matt Sydal, Ricochet, and more, are available from WWNLive.
