Ben Mana will defend the NZWPW Championship against Chad Howard and “Rufguts” Roddy Gunn at the Hughes Academy’s Live Pro Wrestling event next week.
“I am honoured to make history as the first NZWPW Heavyweight Champion to defend the NZWPW title in Auckland,” Mana told NZPWI.
“It won’t be an easy feat as I face two of the best in NZWPW today in a triple threat match … but rest assured at the end of the night Rufguts and Chad Howard will be left weighed, measured and found wanting. History will remember that the Modern Maori Warrior ventured into Auckland as NZWPW champion, and returned back to Wellington as NZWPW champion.”
The triple threat bout is the latest addition to a card that also features an eight-man tournament, with the winner challenging “The Shooter” Shane Sinclair for the Hughes Academy Cup in the night’s featured bout.
The event will also feature a women’s match between Frankie Quinn and Krystal Kayne.
Hughes Academy Live Pro Wrestling takes place Saturday, June 14, at the Kelston Community Centre in Auckland. Tickets will be available on the door.
