PWWA Champion Evie is back in New Zealand after a big weekend in Campbelltown, New South Wales, where she retained her title in fatal four-way action.
In perhaps the biggest challenge the 25-year-old has faced since becoming PWWA champion, Evie put her belt on the line against Jessie McKay, Western Australia standout Michelle K Hasluck, and Shazza McKenzie at Friday’s PWA Lumberjack: Men in Tights.
Evie pinned Hasluck following a double-stomp from the top rope to retain her title.
“That fatal four-way was tough, but managed to retain this bad boy against three very talented ladies,” she wrote on her Facebook page.
Friday night’s win marks defence number five for the PWWA champ, who won the interim title in August of 2012 after defeating Jessie McKay in the tournament final for the vacant title.
Evie has since retained her title against Kellie Skater, Shazza McKenzie, both Kellie Skater and Shazza McKenzie in a triple threat bout, and Madison Eagles in a match to crown an undisputed PWWA Champion.
IPW Champion “The One” Vinny Dunn was not as fortunate at PWA Lumberjack: Men in Tights.
Dunn got caught up in a personal feud between Madison and Ryan Eagles, the estranged husband and wife who have been feuding since Madison turned on her husband and aligned herself with “Green Dragon” Mick Moretti earlier this year.
With Moretti already involved in the night’s main event – a PWA Championship match against Robbie Eagles – Madison recruited Dunn and Western Australia standout “Smashing Machine” Chris Vice to join her in action against Ryan’s team of Rick Sterling and Mark Davis.
Dunn, wrestling with an injured rib, did his best to secure the win for Madison’s team, but eventually Ryan Eagles was able to get a measure of revenge against his wife when he pinned Vice.
