NZPWI today spoke with Dainty Consolidated Entertainment, the promotional company who brought WWE SmackDown to Wellington in March this year.
DCE confirmed that they are in negotiations to bring WWE back to New Zealand for a possible 2007 show.
“After the tremendous success of the first ever WWE live event in March this year we are currently negotiating with World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. to return to New Zealand in early 2007,” Luke Hede of DCE told NZPWI.
“More details will be reported to NZPWI as soon as information firms up which will most likely be in the fourth quarter of 2006.”
This puts to rest any rumours of WWE Raw visiting New Zealand in 2006.
No word as yet as to which brand may be heading to New Zealand or which venue a show may be held in, if at all.
