The WWE SmackDown Road to WrestleMania 22 tour invades Wellington this Saturday, headlining what will be New Zealand’s biggest weekend of pro-wrestling action ever!
Impact Pro Wrestling kick proceedings off this Friday, March 3, with IPW Capital Punishment from Wellington High School, Taranaki Street, at 7.30pm (doors open at 7pm). A huge triple main event sees “Heartless” Alfred Valentine defend the IPW Championship against NZWPW’s H-Flame, NZWPW Champion Juice defends his title against Island Boy Si, and Team IPW take on Team NZWPW in a 10-man tag team elimination match.
Saturday evening sees the big one, as the stars of WWE SmackDown make history as the first ever WWE live event in New Zealand takes place! Kurt Angle is set to defend the World Heavyweight Championship against The Undertaker and Mark Henry in a massive triple threat main event! Also on the card, Randy Orton takes on Rey Mysterio, Chris Benoit defends the United States Championship against Booker T, and Gregory Helms defends the Cruiserweight Championship against Kid Kash and Jamie Noble!
From there, NZPWI hosts the official NZPWI post-WWE tour after-party at the Loaded Hog (Steamship Wharf Building, North Queens Wharf, Jervois Quay, Wellington) from 10.30pm. With pool tables, WWE DVDs playing on the big screens, a bar with food service, and 500 WWE fans in attendance, the after-party will be the biggest pro-wrestling social event in New Zealand history!
