Westpac Stadium and Dainty Consolidated Entertainment officials were surprised to learn the extent that World Wrestling Entertainment were going to to tape last night’s WWE Road to WrestleMania 22 tour event in Wellington.
In general, international shows have one roaming camera for brief footage to be shown on Raw or SmackDown, however last night’s event had at least two roaming cameras and one fixed camera.
Officials for the WWE were overheard telling fans that the Road to WrestleMania event would be released on DVD and, surprisingly, on pay-per-view in the United States.
This is as yet an unconfirmed report, however NZPWI is in the process of confirming this rumour.
SKY1 have already expressed interest in such an event airing on the network.
